Yes, I know we just ended the event for 2014 and what a read aloud it was.  From the incredible books, the authors that were involved, the connections that happened, and the amazing projects shared, I am quite overwhelmed with it all.  But….I have been reading some pretty incredible books lately and have already started thinking about 2015.  How can I not when there are so many incredible books to share out there?

So here is your chance to sign up for 2015.  You shouldn’t hear from me for a long time; I am busy working behind the scenes trying to secure partnerships/sponsorship and otherwise making the experience even better for all of those that sign up, while teaching my incredible 7th graders and being with my awesome family, oh and reading incredible books of course.  So spread the word and then just relax, we have 11 months to go before we start!

I know it is really early but no time like the present to think about the Global Read Aloud for next year.  So if you are thinking you want to sign up, please fill out the form.  This will also add you to the Google group so that you can get updates as needed, even though it will probably be a while before I send anything out.  Also, here is your chance to give me your suggestions for next year.  Books will not be selected until May or June so that newly published books have a chance of being read and suggested.
If you are a publisher or an author that is interested in having your book be part of the project, the easiest way is to get me to read it.  You can contact me at p (at) globalreadaloud (com)

Why the GRA?

Global collaboration is necessary to show students that they are part of something bigger than them. That the world needs to be protected and that we need to care for all people. You can show them pictures of kids in other countries but why not have them speak to each other? Then the caring can begin.
