The One and Only Ivan is an amazing book. I read this to my class last year and skyped with Katherine Applegate. My students loved this book! Great, great choice! And well, Charlotte's Web! Awesome always, too!
Hi, Charlotte's Web is one of my favourite books, I have shared this book with my girls as they were growing up and I am looking forward to sharing it with the children at shool and as part of the Global Read Aloud.
There's a great biography of E.B White that centers around his writing of Charlotte's Web, called appropriately The Story of Charlotte's Web. The book by Michael Sims has been out about a year now. There is an NPR piece about the book at
I can't wait to spread the word to my teammates. LOVE The One and Only Ivan. Last year was such a wonderful experience with Flat Stanley – Looking forward to October.

My 4th-grade teacher read Charlotte's Web to our class in 1962 when the book was relatively new. It's held a special place for me ever since.
Also, I'm looking forward to reading The One and Only Ivan to my class later on.
