I have been furiously reading as many books as I can trying to find those perfect books for this year’s Global Read Aloud. Some new books I have added to the contender list are:
Up to 3rd grade:
- “Lulu and the Brontosaurus” by Judith Viorst
- “Like Pickle Juice on a Cookie” by Julie Sternberg
- “The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane” by Kate DiCamillo
4th and Up:
- “The Liberation of Gabriel King” by K.L. Going
- “The Fourteenth Goldfish” by Jennifer Holm
- “The Terrible Thing that Happened to Barnaby Brocket” by John Boyne
7th and Up:
- “Chains” by Laurie Halse Anderson
- “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green’
- “Threatened” Eliot Schrefer
