It is time to figure out what we are reading when. As always, do not worry about falling behind, I do almost every year, but if you do get ahead, please do not spoil it for others. If you are in an all year school or you have vacation during the 6 weeks, it helps when you post for connections since I know there are many of you out there.

Hi, I’m very excited to do this next year. This will be my first time participating. I am planning on doing this with 5th grade students. I want to make sure I understand correctly- so we choose one of the four books to read? Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Jodi Kelley

Yes, you select one of the books. Have you read this post? https://theglobalreadaloud.com/for-participants/frequently-asked-questions/
So I’m guessing A Boy Called Bat is the book for primary this year and there won’t be a picture book author? Is that correct?
By the way, I was in your session at the Chicago Reading Summit yesterday. Thanks for your passion!!!
Nope, the picture books are in a separate post
Thanks for the information.

I teach grade 8 – would this be considered middle school or YA. Some students are 12 turning 13 soon – others are already 13 and will be 14 by the end of the school year. Not sure which category they fall under.
I would read both options and see which one would work best for your students
This is my first year being involved in the GRA and I am so excited! Thank you!!
